Main objectives:
Responsible for all EMEA Payroll Tax Audits and Payroll Tax Administration supporting Oracle’s EMEA payroll operations teams.
Contributes to the Payroll Tax team’s success by ensuring Oracle’s compliance with EMEA tax laws and to minimize tax liabilities and penalties.
Responsibilities:
- Manages payroll tax audit collaboration with regional Corporate Tax.
- Coordinates and review data collection with regional Payroll Operations and/or Payroll Vendor for any tax related audits or notices.
- Updates audit tracker with tax audit and tax notice details
- Coordinates third party resources as needed, . PWC, for country specific legislative requirements.
- Manages legacy tax issues for acquired companies.
- Participates in bi-weekly Tax Audit Review with Corporate Tax.
- Assists Corporate Tax in preparing audit payment request templates summarizing audit results and submission through the approval process.
- Provides quarterly updates to Manager on payroll tax audit activity.
- Coordinates with Payroll Operations to complete remediation of current audit finding; enhance process controls, and operational issues.
- Remains current with payroll tax regulatory changes, identifies issues/ implications impacting payroll tax, notify payroll operations of any changes in payroll tax laws.
- Provides quarterly and annual tax legislation updates to Oracle Payroll, Corporate Tax and GCO.
- Manages tax agency registration for new countries; acquisitions.
- Creates and maintain country payroll tax summary database.
- Manages year begin and year end processes; manages annual checklist to document review of necessary payroll tax requirement changes.
- Responsible for monitoring of the accurate and timely filing and payment of statutory payroll withholding taxes to relevant government authorities.
- Participates in development of reconciliation procedures to ensure payments of tax liabilities and tax filing are reconciled before submission.
- Is proactive, contributes ideas in order to improve team’s performance.
- Effectively collect, summarize and communicate facts: efficiently and timely obtain all relevant facts for a situation; articulately and concisely communicate facts to stakeholders; develop and communicate proposed solutions to stakeholders.
- Ensures the quality standards are met.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with internal or external customers & key stakeholders including methodology for clear and articulate communication (. HR, Legal, Global Corporate Controllers, external vendors).
- Understand and acknowledge the department policies and procedures.
- Undertake other tasks attributed by the direct manager in line with departmental guidelines.
Abilities and Qualifications of the Payroll Tax Specialist:
- Possessing an undergraduate degree in any discipline, preferably in finance or related fields;
- Advanced fluency in English;
Fluency in any other language is a plus;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Ability to maintain professionalism under all circumstances;
- Ability to create and maintain strong professional relationships;
- Organized and extremely detail – oriented;
- Result driven and ability to solve problems;
- Excellent computer skills (. MS Word, Access, Excel, Adobe, PowerPoint);
- Ability to multi task, prioritize and handle many requests, operating under tight deadlines and in a rapidly changing environment; and,
- Ability to maintain the pace of deliveries despite tight deadlines and demanding environment.
Experience:
3 – 4 years of relevant work experience.
A minimum of 5 years of total experience preferred.
