The Class teacher assistant is expected to:

  • Report regularly to the coordinator regarding students’ performance and challenges, with recommendations for action and a summary of actions taken.
  • To provide support to children
  • To give extra help to children with special needs or those for whom English is not their first language
  • To create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the pupils.
  • To guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and objectives as indicated in the lesson plans for the lessons, units, or projects assigned.
  • To use instructional methods and materials that are most appropriate for meeting lesson objectives.
  • To help the teacher to develop programs of learning activities and adapting appropriate materials
  • Use different methods to motivate and encourage pupils
  • To attend meetings and reviews
  • Take part in and organize after/school events, outings and activities which may take place at weekends or in the evening;
  • Maintain high levels of discipline and respect between pupils and staff; promote an understanding of the school’s rules and values; safeguard health and safety; and develop relationships with and between pupils conducive to optimum learning.
  • Maintains a neat and orderly classroom.
  • Take attendance in accordance with school procedures.
  • Insures that the students are never left unattended in the classroom.
  • perform duties usually required of absent teacher such as supervisions
  • keep up-to-date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum;
  • Keep up-to-date with current educational thinking and practice through individual study and attending courses, workshops and meetings,
  • Act as a consistent role model to all students providing them with advice, knowledge and mentorship that extend beyond the delivery of the curriculum.
  • Set a good example at all time adopting a professional appearance and being culturally sensitive and professional both in the school and the community.
  • Perform other related duties as directed by the AQC or Academic Director

Requirements:

  • Bachelor /Master Degree In Educational Sciences/Pedagogy/Psychology/Foreign Languages
  • excellent command / highly proficient in spoken and written English
  • Experience working with children, preferably
  • Demonstrate an absolute commitment to students and their learning and development
  • Possess good oral and written communication skills and be a good communicator, who is accessible to pupils and colleagues;
  • Priorities, organize and manage time effectively
  • Be approachable, have a sense of humor and lead by example
  • Satisfactory health record
  • Comply with the school’s policies and procedures
  • Enthusiasm

  • Responsibility

Candidates should be expected to provide references and a police clearance
