Technical Support Specialist

JOB PURPOSE:

Work with a multi-disciplined Building & Infrastructure Solutions Tech Support team to produce professional & creative designs for a range of different projects.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide technical support

Review received RFQ’s both technically and commercially; analyze customer provided data and develop technical solutions that exceed client expectations whilst enhancing nVent Thermal Management chances of securing an order

Interpret piping and diagrams, plot plans, piping isometrics, piping plan drawings, piping specifications, roof/gutter and floor drawings and bills of material

Quantify and compare alternative solutions that can be presented as part of our submission to the client

Understand technical in-depth Building and Infrastructure Solutions product lines and relevant (Special) Applications for which they can be used

Heat loss calculation of piping and equipment’s.

Electrical floor heating designs.

Produce detailed engineering designs, drawings & material take off’s using in-house design software programs

Primary point of contact for troubleshooting installation issues & start-up assistance for thermostats & Control panels & communication to DCS

EDUCATION/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

Required (please do not apply if you don't meet below points):

• Relevant experience using AutoCAD (at work or private)

• Qualified to Degree level or ongoing study in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering

• Computer literate – proficient in a wide variety of MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Access)

• Proficiency in Architectural and/or Engineering drawings (process flow, electrical one lines, piping schematics)

• Ability to work to deadlines without requiring constant supervision.

• Advanced English level


Preferred:

• Experience in or with power distribution and/or heat tracing applications and/or control and monitoring and/or communication to DCS systems is welcome but not mandatory

• Technical understanding of piping materials, components, valves, and familiarity with piping isometrics, P&ID’s, piping symbols etc.

• Autodesk REVIT is a big advantage

• French / German / Italian / Spanish language
