PRIMARY FUNCTION:
In order to sustain Eaton’s growth strategy in Romania, to enhance technical customer stewardship and continually strive for improved quality and maximum efficiency within the manufacturing area, we are looking for an experienced Test and Automation Engineer in our location in Arad.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Understands Eaton products functionality and requirements (Electrical Sector) and our high quality and safety standards.
Understands and Analyzes test requirements and test specifications from Design Authorities (located in multiple European sites) and proposes Test solutions according to Eaton best practices, Standardization, Eaton safety requirements, best cost and efficiency.
Continually improve existing test solutions (automated or not) through yield analysis, test time reduction, faster diagnostic process, high safety requirements etc.
Create specifications for test and assembly equipment and work with suppliers to provide best solution equipment for our production facility. Responsible for the evaluation, installation and efficient operation of the test and production equipment.
Support process engineering team with technical knowledge in failure diagnostics, preventive maintenance and continuous improvement. Is the technical support and mentorship for technicians & process engineers in his/her area of expertise.
Technical Support for quality department to define corrective actions and improvement plans.
Enhance customer stewardship, by providing effective solutions to problems and future demands
Participate in multifunctional teams to perform risk evaluations on products, process and equipment, using the FMEA methodology.
Participate in multifunctional Transfer and New Product Introductions Teams. Keep contact with the Design Authority to find the best test solution and perform Design for Testability.
Understands the principles of Lean Manufacturing and continuously strives for personal and professional development.
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE:
Technical university degree with strong knowledge in electricity, electronics and automation.
Significant experience in a functional test or automation engineering role, in a high reliability manufacturing facility.
Capability to understand electronic equipment functionality and schematics.
Analytical engineer who can process data efficiently to provide professional solutions to problems and communicate the outcomes at all levels
Good team player who is willing to take ownership of problems and fully participate and integrate in team activities.
High level diagnostic experience over a wide range of technologies, with competencies in automation (PLC), sensors, electrical schematics, equipment construction, equipment safety protection circuits, reliability tests.
Can demonstrate contribution to specific improvements in test efficiencies.
Proven understanding of architecture of PLC programing.
Confident, self-starter who is willing to encourage improvement & challenge the status quo. Flexible, willing to learn and develop new skills.
SAP knowledge is a plus
Fluent in English.
3-5 years experience in testing or automation.
