Test Hardware Engineer

Microchip is searching for a Hardware Engineer for the Test Systems Development Team. He/She will be responsible for the development of multilayer printed circuit boards that are used to interface between test equipment (used in wafer-probe and final test operations) and the IC devices that need testing.

• The HW Engineer will work with test engineering customers to define the PCB project scope, project requirements and milestone dates.
• The HW Engineer will direct the development of test interface boards from schematic through the fabrication and assembly process.
• The HW Engineer will create schematics for PCB projects using defined best practices and approved libraries.
• The HW Engineer will capture and track interface board project information, Bill of Materials (BoM), dates, pricing and accurate project documentation (project management).
• Work with and coordinate project work by international teams for CAD layout, board fabrication and assembly.
• The HW Engineer must learn and follow internal procedures for developing test interface boards.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering or other technical discipline. 
• Experience with hardware design, CAD/CAM, PCB design tools (Altium Designer preferred).

• Good knowledge of electronic components functions and type (SMD standard sizes, semiconductor packages, etc.).
• Previous job experience with PCB design is a plus.
• Good verbal and written English.
• Occasional international and domestic travel will be required.
