Test Lead Engineer

OVERVIEW: The Test Lead Engineer is the person responsible for building up and leading the Testing Team to the success of the project. Is involved in planning, deploying, and managing the testing effort for any given engagement.

Key Activities

• Worldwide coordination of verification & validation in complex mechatronic projects including the organization of distributed test teams
• Creation of a test strategy as well as planning and organizing all test activities in the project context
• Risk assessment and risk analysis as part of the test design
• Determination of the test effort for the project budget planning including estimation of the internal and external trial costs
• Close cooperation with Project Management and System Lead Engineer
• Review and analysis of customer requirements and test specifications
• Adjustment of the test scope with customers, development and test sites
• Participation in project meetings and customer appointments
• Continuously monitoring the project progress using test metrics and report the test status to the project management
• Presentation of the test results to internal and external customers

Desired Profile

• University Degree (Computer Science, Electronics, Informatics, etc.) (. electrical engineering, mechatronics or equivalent
• Several years of professional experience in a similar position, preferably in the automotive industry
• Practical experience in project management and test management
• Ideally certified to ISTQB and IREB standards
• Knowledge in requirements engineering and test design as well as the corresponding tools (. IBM, DOORS)
• Willingness to travel
• Very good social skills and team work
• Very good organizational skills
• Analytical mindset and conceptual skills
• Proactive and willingness to take over responsibility
• Excellent English skills in writing and speaking,
• Basic German knowledge
