Under the supervision of the Trade Counsellor, the Trade Assistant provides daily administrative support and services, provides and creates information and documentation, supports ongoing trade program activities, responds to client service requests, and performs other duties as required.  

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION

Candidates will initially be screened against the essential qualifications relating to education, experience and language. Candidates must clearly demonstrate in their cover letter and CV how they meet each of these essential qualifications.

Education

  • Degree from a recognized university with specialization in a discipline related to the position requirements (. economics, administration, communication) or an equivalent combination* of education, training and experience.

*This is defined as a minimum of two years of post-secondary experience and/or vocational training.

Language

  • Fluency in French
  • Fluency in Romanian
  • Fluency in Bulgarian
  • Intermediate proficiency in English


Experience

  • At least two years of recent* combined experience in client service delivery and administrative services, including managing appointments and providing support for events, logistics, budgets and/or accounting.

*Recent is defined as within the last five years.


Rated requirements
Candidates must also meet the rated requirements set out below. These are the knowledge, abilities and competencies that will be evaluated using the following methods: written exam, oral interview, role playing, practical test, presentation and/or psychometric test.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS

Preference may be given to candidates who possess the following asset qualifications. Such candidates must clearly demonstrate in their cover letter and CV how they meet these qualifications.

  • Professional certifications in event or project management or international trade
  • Work experience with financial software, such as SAP

ORGANIZATIONAL NEEDS

Operational Requirements:

  • Hours of work: hours per week, Monday to Friday
  • Ability to work overtime outside of regular office hours
  • Ability to travel in exceptional circumstances
  • Ability to work on Romanian holidays when the embassy is open
  • Leave is at the discretion of the supervisor and may be restricted or refused during peak operating periods

CONDITION(S) OF EMPLOYMENT

  • Proof of right to work in Romania and copies of diplomas will be required at the interview stage
  • The position is subject to a probationary period
  • A medical certificate may also be required
  • Ability to obtain and maintain reliability status (security screening)
