Virtualization Engineer

As a Virtualization Engineer you will work on developing and operating Cloud Solutions based on Microsoft, VMWare, AWS, Azure and Google technologies for global clients in a meaningful and multidimensional environment where:

Interacting with test and integration teams at establishing test environment(s), generating test cases and test data;

Build system design and specification documents for virtualization-related elements of the compute;

Hosting platform and evaluating new technologies;

Maintaining the virtual infrastructure hardware, operating systems, and VMs on servers which support business processing requirements;

Handling incidents reported by automated alerts or by customer;

Maintain, upgrade, and implement improvements to the Hyper V and VMware infrastructure;

Handle available virtual and storage resources within the infrastructure environment;

Review of Historic Incidents to discover regularly repeating incidents, Handling of Problems relating to historic incidents, build and handling RCA records and also build the compute hosting platform;

Generation of capacity report, CMDB updates and support hardware ordering process and support other functional teams on a periodic basis;

Experience working with VMware and with HyperV;

Experience with Windows Serveror Linux/Unix server;

Knowledge of Windows infrastructure technologies (AD, DNS, MS Clustering);

Basic knowledge in storage management and working knowledge of Power Shell - desired;

To have basic knowledge of Unix/Linux needed for effective planning of resources;

Knowledge of System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) it would be an advantage;

Others:

• Basic ITIL knowledge (ITIL Foundation), monitoring tools (Nagios, Cacti, HPNM, e Health, Soft guard);
• Availability for on call and overtime activities;
• Good understanding of networking and storage concept;
• Cisco certification (Cisco routers) and certifications required;
• Candidate must hold an active Department of Defense (DoD) clearance level;
• Candidate must be certified in accordance with DoD 8570 IAT Level II approved baseline certifications prior to start date;
• VMware Certified Professional VVCP) and CCNA Data Center (preferred).
