Warehouse Manager

WAREHOUSE-YARD MANAGER                                                                                                              

Summary/Objective

The candidate manages the day-to-day operations of the warehouse. Controls the daily activities of the warehouse, actively working, planning and scheduling. Oversee and develops front line personnel in the warehouse and yard, to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of performance. This is a cross-functional position that is perform 10% of the time in an office environment and 90% in the warehouse-yard. This position is very active and requires frequently walking, kneeling and stooping all day. The employee must lift and/or move heavy items and standing for extended periods of time.

Essential Functions

• Distribution services including receiving, storing, shipping, handling, maintenance and administrative activities.
• Responsible for managing to ensure operational excellence in all warehouse/yard areas.
• Plans and coordinates work, trains and motivates, monitors and evaluates performance of warehouse associates; ensures their ability to safely operate material handling equipment to move material to and from storage configurations; counsels, records and disciplines as necessary.
• Organizes “trucks schedule” in cooperation with logistics and ensures daily operations are maintained as scheduled.
• Maintains periodically conference calls with Production Department and/or Headquarters.

• Performs other administrative and operations duties as required.

   

  Experience

   

                  Minimum 2 years in similar positions, managing people and teams, organizing work and managing stocks, experience in driving forklifts loading and unloading, and welding.

              Spanish or English required.
